Official Mexican Standard NOM 035
NOM 035 establishes the obligations that employers have to address psychosocial risk factors in order to promote a positive organizational environment in workplaces. Its objective is the identification, analysis, and prevention of these factors.
In terms of scope, NOM 035 is valid throughout the national territory and applies to all workplaces. However, the provisions of this standard are applied according to the number of workers in each workplace.

- Exposure to severe traumatic events.
- Acts of workplace violence.
Categorization of Employer Obligations
- Workplaces with up to 15 employees
- Workplaces with 16 to 50 employees
- Workplaces with more than 50 employees
Identification of Psychosocial Risk Factors
- Conditions in the work environment.
- Workload.
- Lack of control over the job.
- Work hours and shift rotation exceeding legal limits.
- Interference in the work-family relationship.
Worker Obligations
- Observe preventive measures.
- Refrain from practices harmful to a favorable environment.
- Prevent acts of violence.
- Collaborate in the identification of risk factors.
- Report workplace violence to the safety and hygiene committee.
- Report severe traumatic events suffered in writing.
- Undergo medical examinations and psychological evaluations.
